    Insulate Exposed Plumbing:

Use pipe insulation or heat tape on exposed water lines to prevent freezing.

Insulate the underbelly of the camper if not already done.

    Tank Protection:

Install tank heaters or use RV antifreeze in holding tanks (not in freshwater tanks unless you’re not drinking from them).

Keep tanks warm by enclosing and insulating the area they’re in.

    Seal Drafts:

Inspect and seal gaps around windows, doors, and vents to keep the cold out.

Use window film or thermal curtains to improve insulation.

    Skirting:

Add RV skirting around the base of your camper to reduce heat loss and keep the underside warmer.

    Maintain Heat Sources:

Ensure your furnace or other heating systems are in good working order.

Use space heaters safely as supplemental heat.

    Protect the Water Hose:

Use a heated water hose or insulate a standard water hose with foam insulation and heat tape.

    Monitor Ventilation:

Prevent condensation by using a dehumidifier or ventilating adequately, especially when cooking or showering.

    Keep a Backup Plan:

Have a backup heat source or alternative power supply in case of power outages.

Know where to find emergency services or supplies.

    Propane Management:

Ensure you have adequate propane supply for heating and cooking.

Keep spare propane tanks on hand.

    What to Skip:

You won’t need to fully winterize systems you’re actively using, like draining the water lines or adding antifreeze to all pipes. However, you still need to ensure those systems are protected from freezing.

By taking these precautions, you can ensure your camper remains livable and systems stay operational throughout the winter.
